Local Kai Potlock
Join us for a warm winter community feast! The Mohua Local Kai Potluck brings Golden Bay whānau together to share food, celebrate local growers, and connect over kai. Bring a dish made with locally grown or sourced ingredients to share — enough for at least four people. Alongside your dish, bring a recipe card and an ingredients card noting any allergens. Mohua 2042 Future Strategy Workshop
May 21 10am - 3.30pm Motupipi Hall, Abel Tasman Drive This workshop is a chance to shape Mohua's sustainable future together. We will reflect on our vision and strategy, take a look at how much has been achieved over the last 3 years, and then use the power of the group to work through where we should focus our efforts going forward. We've prepared a wee treat for the day - a fun, informative recraft of the Collaboration game using Mohua projects and some home grown ingenuity. This will form the centre piece of the workshop - the insights from here will help us identify gaps and prioritise where to focus next. SLC are preparing a delicious lunch for $15 or bring your own. Mohua Resilience Weekend 2–3 May 2026
Join us for a free two-day community event focused on getting Golden Bay prepared for earthquakes, flooding, wildfires, and everything in between.
Day 1 — FREE Sandbags for Winter Saturday 2 May, 9am–2pm, Golden Bay Recreation Centre Pick up free sandbags (up to 20 per household or business) to prepare for winter flooding. BBQ fundraiser for the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter — koha welcome. Day 2 — Mohua Golden Bay Resilience Expo Sunday 3 May, 10am–4pm, Golden Bay Recreation Centre Eight presentations from Nelson Tasman Emergency Management, Golden Bay Emergency Operations Centre, TDC, Project STRIM, Adaptive Resilience Solutions, and more — covering emergency response, community preparedness, climate policy, telecommunications, water, and food resilience. Interactive displays for all ages, emergency vehicles, market stalls, entertainment, and food trucks.
