Tasman District Council is developing a Reserve Management Plan for Golden Bay's parks, playgrounds, sports fields, and coastal reserves. This plan will guide how these community spaces are managed and developed for the next 10+ years. Why your voice matters: These reserves are where community happens – from beach access to playgrounds, sports fields to native bush. The decisions made now will shape these spaces for future generations. Council needs to hear what works, what's needed, and what should be protected. Making it easier to submit: We've prepared a detailed submission guide (here) to help you: • Understand the key issues • Identify what you care about • Structure your submission effectively Submissions Due: 30th March 2026 |

The Takaka Catchment Collective is a growing group of locals working together to protect, restore, and enhance the health of our waterways and wider catchment systems in Golden Bay.
Mohua 2042 has been working alongside the project to help develop a strategy, organise community events, and secure funding. With more community planting events on the horizon, there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved! |

Hum. Community is our microgranting fund platform. Rather than a panel deciding where support goes, hum puts that power in the hands of Golden Bay residents — anyone can nominate a local initiative, and the community votes on what gets funded.
It's a practical expression of our belief that the people who live here know best what our community needs. Each grant cycle surfaces new ideas, connects neighbours, and directs resources toward the mahi that matters most to Mohua whanau. Links: Android, iOS |

A timebank is a community-driven exchange system where people trade skills and services using time as currency.
Give an hour of help, get an hour of help in return through time credits. It's a way to recognize and value everyone's skills equally. Timebank is a network of generosity, where every hour given is an hour gained, strengthening the fabric of our community. Mohua 2042 is the supporting organisation for the the Mohua Timebank team. The Timebank is actively signing people up and will be officially starting in early 2026. |

A team of experienced and enthusiastic repairers can help with many items including clothing, kitchen tools, bikes, household items, bikes, toys and furniture.
